Back in the Game
Howdy humans! It’s been a while. I just got back from an epic cross country road trip, and now my family is planning another one for the end of summer- which gives me only the month of July to really get some writing done. I made progress during the trip, but there’s nothing like actual time at home committed to getting some work done.
As I have to buckle down a bit more in the next month, I spent last week trying to build up to writing a thousand words per day. I’m still in the midst of that buildup, but I’ve been able to make progress by adding 100 words to my overall word count each day. 100 words is comparatively nothing, but I’m a very slow and unfocused writer, so at my worst, even that measly amount can take me half an hour or more. Thankfully, I’ve built up my focus enough to be faster than that, but I still need to get faster if I’m going to finish book two by the end of summer.
I‘ve also been struggling a bit to remember why I write in the first place. However, by going back to basics, I’m starting to recover the feeling of why I started in the first place. Hopefully, in the coming week, I’ll be able to amp up my writing even more! I‘ll continue to update. In the meantime, fly safe, everybody!
