Howdy humans! It’s been a crazy week. As I may have mentioned, I’m experiencing a strange lack of motivation and productivity. Just a slump, but in order to pull myself out of it, I thought I’d go back to basics and remind myself what my goals really are. To that end, I‘m taking you through my bucket list!
See the Stars
As sad as it is, I’ve never been far enough from civilization to see a natural sky full of stars. I’ve been close many times, but the experience always gets taken away at the last minute. Seeing the stars is a big dream of mine, and I can’t wait for the day that it finally happens.
Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Land
Yet another one I was oh so close to completing. Last time I almost went to Disney, the pandemic hit. Still, I hope to get to Galaxy’s Edge solely so I can pilot the Millennium Falcon. That, and meet Chewie.
See Every Continent
A big reason I write is because I hope to go on adventures in my real life. A lot of that has to do with exploration and travel. I’d love to see as much of this planet as possible, and even more if I can. So, getting to all of the continents seems like a cool goal as far as travel. So far I barely have one, but hopefully I have plenty of time to remedy that.
Publish the New Covenant Trilogy
This is evident, but my current goal as far as writing goes is to publish all three books of the New Covenant Trilogy. Once I do that, I’ll be free to move on to other projects, or focus on the other goals on this list. But for now, I’ll be writing.
Get a Pilot’s License
Again, a big part of why I write is because I want to reflect the adventures I hope to find in real life. And, as a sci fi nerd, my favorite characters tend to be the pilots, and at some point, that translated into a real dream to fly. Once I publish the New Cov Trilogy, I plan to pursue a pilot‘s license and eventually make a career as a pilot.
Travel the Country
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given the previous items on this list. Before I travel the world, I hope to take a stab at the more achievable goal of traveling the country. I’m going to get a chance at this during the month of June, during which I’ll be on a long road trip with family members. I’m excited, and I’ll be sure to send y’all the pictures!
Reach Space (if possible)
Yes, this one is a reach. But if space becomes accessible to the general public within my lifetime, I’d love to take part in that. Rumors fly about tourists being allowed on the space station, or even a space hotel opening up. Both these things would doubtless be very expensive, but I’ll be saving up.
So, there you have it, my abridged bucket list. There are a few other things I could name, but for the most part, these are the things I look forward to achieving during my time on this earth. It’s been a great help to return to basics and remind myself why I enjoy writing and exploration. Hopefully reminding myself of such things will help get me back on track as far as writing goes. In the meantime, have a great week, and fly safe, everybody!
